BARBEE BOYS: BARBEE BOYS

BARBEE BOYS are a fantastic 5-piece Japanese rock group that formed 1980 and eventually disbanded in 1992. What set apart BARBEE BOYS from most of the groups at the time were their dual lead vocalists, KONTA (who also played soprano sax) and 杏子(Kyouko). KONTA's melodically guttural voice and 杏子's powerful brassy vocals are truly the bands strongest dynamic. The musicianship is masterful as well, with いまみちともたか bluesy/new wave guitar playing complimenting a strong bass & rhythm backdrop and KOTNA's sax adding the extra punch. This is a best of compilation released the year they disbanded. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
